Stop Multitasking! You Can Train Your Brain to Focus

Did you know that you could train your brain like a muscle? Yes. These exercises can help you focus and become more productive!

Here are some effective ways to fight distractions that will help you focus more on what you need to get done:

  1. Listen to music while you work. My mom used to wonder how I could listen to rock and roll music and do my homework at the same time. It has to do with the release of dopamine to your brain. Positive moods help you focus more.
  2. Train your mind like a muscle. Turn off the distractions for a certain amount of time. That email doesn’t need to be addressed immediately! If the phone rings, let them leave a message. If they really want to reach you, they will.
  3. Watch your coffee intake. Yes, caffeine helps you to be alert, but you only need 6 oz. of coffee. Any more can cause anxiousness.
